Book launch: Tom Johnson

In conjunction with several Massey University associates, Tom Johnson has produced a book entitled Legends in Black.
It is based on Tom’s thesis on ‘organisational culture’ and is about ‘why the All Blacks win.’ Congratulations, Tom. We are all looking forward to reading it.
The book includes Barbarian chapter subjects about a number of Barbarian members – Sir Colin Meads, Sir John Graham, John Hart, ‘Buck’ Shelford, Laurie Mains, Sir Graham Henry, Dr Farah Palmer, Ian Kirkpatrick and Wayne Smith.
The NZ Barbarians RFC has been asked to assist with a book launch, to help promote the book and we are very pleased and privileged to be able to do so.
Arrangements for the book launch are as follows:
When – Thursday August 28
Time – 6.00pm
Where – NZ Barbarians’ clubrooms, Eden Park

We hope you will be able to join us. It will be a very interesting night.

Top 4 schools tournament – Rotorua

Once again, the Top 4 boys’ and co-ed schools’ tournament will take place at Rotorua Boys’ High School on Friday September 5 to Sunday September 7.
Qualifying games are being played in the various franchises, so the finalists for the tournament will not be known until a week before the event. We will advise you of the finalists as soon as we know them but, if you are able to, a visit to the tournament in Rotorua would be well worth the trip. If you intend to go, please let us know, as we have a special area for Baabaas where you will be welcome. Please let us know if you will be attending.
